If I was interested in visiting a museum which would be the best museum to visit to see?

1. Confederate uniforms
2. Union uniforms
3. Civil War swords
4. Civil War long arms
5. Other

According to the NY museum's web site:

The museum also owns the largest collection of state battle flags in the country and the largest collection of Civil War flags in the world. Of the over 1700 flags in the collection, more than 60% are from the Civil War. The flags date from the War of 1812 through the 1991 Gulf War. The museum maintains an exhibit of its flag collection in the state capitol building in Albany where the museum collection was originally housed.
This museum also has a small but representative collection of firearms from the Civil War, plus a good collection of shells and other explosives. There's also a collection of items related to Elmer Ellsworth..including the uniform he was wearing when he was shot and the flag he was trying to take down. This museum covers all wars and it's really good. I suspect most people go there on off days from the racetrack, but it makes good financial sense to go when there is racing going on. You're out absolutely nothing if you to to the museum...the entrance fee is $0.00, and you're bound to be out considerably more if you go to the track.

I definitely want to go!

The Museum of the Confederacy is at the top of the list for Confederate memorabilia.

Both outstanding Museums. The Confederate White House next to MOC-Richmond is a must-see too.
