I haven't been to all museums but there is a helluva display at the Chickamauga NPS Visitor Center.

One of the finest Confederate Firearms Collectios in the World.

Greensboro Historical Museum

The John and Isabelle Murphy Confederate Firearms Collection is a must for those interested in the distinctive style of these antique firearms. It features over 150 fine examples of longarms from every major Confederate armory. For those who crave works of art, the exhibit includes contemporary paintings by Don Troiani, and is supplemented by Civil War artifacts from our permanent collection.

Legion Para I will have to trust you on the last two as I have not visited them. I have been to both states, but had limited time while there.

My vote for the best Civil War story museum is The Civil War Museum in Kenosha Wisconsin. If you want to see tons of uniforms and arms then don't go to Kenosha, but if you want a fine story Kenosha is great.

Truth be told, some of the finest Civil War Sword collections are privately owned and not on public display.

Even though it's widely scattered throughout numerous locations, the National Park Service has an amazing Civil War collection and most of it is never on display.

I am a docent at the Michigan History Museum and we do not concentrate on the Civil War. We did set up two different temporary displays in the last few years. This allowed people to see artifacts not normally on display.
