I consider this a western, though its modern day, sorta dances with wolves in modern times. A little cheesy, but I've always liked it anyway........Last of the Dogmen
Yes he did, what is funny, is every star of Bonanza except Loren Greene were on Gunsmoke before Bonanza began.Didn't Sam Peckinpah direct a few episodes of the "Rifleman"?
Wasn't the actor who played the little boy on Laramie the real life brother of Johnny Crawford?I thought the late Johnny Crawford did great job as the rifleman's son , but not my favorite western.
@Rusk County Avengers - my apologies; tried to put a positive comment on what you wrote as I appreciate what you posted. I should have just liked the post. Sorry to hear all these negative things happened to you During this time.I don't know about upbeat. I drove from near Arkansas, down to Austin, then further out west, before a death in the family forced me to haul a** east to Beaumont through the Texas Hill County and Houston. Then a long drive north home.
With more prop and gun damage to come in my absence as an assistant took over. A brand new Dragoon revolver practically destroyed and Hollywood not replacing it.
That journey shall forever be remembered by me as "The Great Texas Triangle of H*ll"
It's more a matter of I don't know whether to laugh or cry, and I choose laugh. Least I had some fun doubling as an extra that didn't try to steal guns, and got to see the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame on my way down.
Boy, did they add that extra certain something to the westerns.Today's westerns lack the character actors that were around 60+ years ago like Jack Elam , Leo Gordan, Slim Pickens etc. I could go on with the likes of Chill Wills, Andy Devine, Edgar Buchannan etc. but I'm sure I got my point across.
It was one of Russian leader Leonid Brezhnev's favorite TV shows. Never would have thought this.I thought the late Johnny Crawford did great job as the rifleman's son , but not my favorite western.
Yes, Bobby Crawford Jr. , character Andy Sherman.Wasn't the actor who played the little boy on Laramie the real life brother of Johnny Crawford?
I remember that.It was one of Russian leader Leonid Brezhnev's favorite TV shows. Never would have thought this.
When he came to America he wanted to meet Chuck Connors, who proceeded to give him a bear hug.
I love that movie. Your wife is wise.Just for a little input I asked my wife what her favorite western is. She replied "The Shootist". I am not the John Wayne fan that I used to be, but he's okay. I just wish he'd have listened to some of the movies technical advisors. Some of his movies are terrible about using the wrong equipment. "The Commancheros" is a perfect example. But for what they paid him he would probably have used a Tommy gun or Uzi in his westerns if the script called for it.
He got banned from Disneyland that same trip.It was one of Russian leader Leonid Brezhnev's favorite TV shows. Never would have thought this.

If I recall correctly Connors gave him a Colt revolver as a gift.It was one of Russian leader Leonid Brezhnev's favorite TV shows. Never would have thought this.

Are We talking about Khrushchev or Brezhnev? He got banned from Disneyland that same trip.
I lost some respect for Chuck Conners when I heard that he died from lung cancer.Just before he died he was doing commercials for a Vitamin Co. he stated "I make my living with this body I really take care of it". Yet he died from smoking cigarettes. That's not exactly taking care of your body, quite the opposite really. If I recall correctly Connors gave him a Colt revolver as a gift.
Maybe he really needed the money. He probably had medical expenses up the yin-yang.I lost some respect for Chuck Conners when I heard that he died from lung cancer.Just before he died he was doing commercials for a Vitamin Co. he stated "I make my living with this body I really take care of it". Khrushchev. Are talking about Khrushchev or Brezhnev?
My bad. According to a bio, he was worth $5 million at his death. Another bio said he was wounded twice at Anzio and received 2 PHs. Yet another bio didn't mention this but said he served as a tank instructor and then was transferred to West Point.Maybe he really needed the money. He probably had medical expenses up the yin-yang.
Khrushchev was banned in 1959 but we had been talking about Brezhnev. Are talking about Khrushchev or Brezhnev?
Connors also played Major League baseball and NBA basketball, one of only 13 players to do this.My bad. According to a bio, he was worth $5 million at his death.
