US Cavalry Relic

Maryland...'bout 55 miles south of Gettysburg.
This, of course, is a Union cavalry carbine sling buckle, and it was found at
the battlefield of Cold Harbor in Virginia. I didn't find it, but bought it
from a digger at a CW show. Some of them have the company name on
them and "US", but usually they are like this one, and not marked. The
Confederates also made a copy of this buckle and the ones I have seen
are thicker and somewhat heavier than the Union one.
