Seriously, these are fantastic images! But how do you manage to get up so early? When I get up early enough to see the sun rise, at most I only get 3 hours of sleep.

I'm young, and three hours works for me. I get up at 1:30, have some coffee, start heading down at 2:45, hit Sheetz by 4:30 and get there just in time for sunrise at 5:45.

Today I went to Sharpsburg (the proper name for the battle, ahem ), and took these photos which I think turned out pretty good. My brain isn't braining very well tonight, so I forget half of the regimental monuments depicted, but I walked from Bloody Lane, past the Mumma Farm, through the East Woods, the Poffenberger farm, and the North Woods. Might add a few more later.

This plaque identifies the approximate location my confederate relatives fought with the 48th North Carolina near Dunker Church in the North Woods.
