I was casually browsing through the LOC images like I am prone to do and ran across this image identified as
"Unidentified soldier in Confederate uniform and his wife, Sarah A. Dasher"
I thought, hey, I'll just give it a try and see if I can find the guy's identity. I mean how many Sarah A. Dashers can there be?
Then I thought, surely if it was that easy, someone would have already ID'd the image????? Apparently not.
So here you go......I searched for Sarah A Dasher and found several. Ok, hes a Confederate -so they have to live in the south, right? Sure enough, there are only four or five "Sarah Dashers" of the correct age in southern states. Low and behold, here she is:
Sarah Ann Catherine Dasher Wisenbaker (1819-1888)

And her husband? The man in the picture who has remained unknown?
James Adril Wisenbaker (1810-1868)
