James Adril Wisenbaker 1810-1868.JPG

I was casually browsing through the LOC images like I am prone to do and ran across this image identified as
"Unidentified soldier in Confederate uniform and his wife, Sarah A. Dasher"

:wavespin: I thought, hey, I'll just give it a try and see if I can find the guy's identity. I mean how many Sarah A. Dashers can there be? :bounce: Then I thought, surely if it was that easy, someone would have already ID'd the image????? Apparently not. :nah disagree:So here you go......

I searched for Sarah A Dasher and found several. Ok, hes a Confederate -so they have to live in the south, right? Sure enough, there are only four or five "Sarah Dashers" of the correct age in southern states. Low and behold, here she is:

Wonder if any of his surviving descendants know about that picture?

I sent a message to Glynn O Dasher Jr who posted the known image of Sarah Ann Catherine Dasher Wisenbaker and I posted the image on both Find-A-Grave memorials with the LOC link.

Fantastic job, lelliott19. I wonder if, in their wildest imaginations, they would have thought that 150 years later a North Alabama girl would research their story and post it on a medium that allowed it to be shared with a wee man on the edge of an altogether different continent. Also, will anything similar happen to you or me or anyone else here on CWT? Makes ya think!
Micky.

Thanks for the link @chubachus I sent the report.

Best of luck on getting them to update the entry. I have submitted 4-5 that have been accepted and it is kind of neat seeing my name listed as the source for a correction/update within the LOC.
