Planning to make my first trip to Perryville tomorrow. I have everything ready to go as far as my maps and stuff and spent the past week reading more into the battle & campaign and checking out YouTube videos.

That said, is there any portion of the battlefield that is an absolute must see in anyone's opinion. I plan on spending the full day there.

I love Perryville. I have been there 7-8 times. Beautiful area and battlefield. I love the cornfield area and the site for Maney's charge. There was some brutal fighting that occurred on Starkweather Hill also.

Looking at the photos of the battlefield, it looks beautiful there. I'm very excited the forecast for tomorrow is perfect weather for a battlefield visit.

I went up there during the first week of October for 5-6 years in a row. The fall colors were beautiful. It gets cool up there at night during that time. I haven't been in several years but if I had the time now I would go again in a heartbeat.

Our own member @buckeyebill has posted photo essays on Perryville but there is a site called civilwar album that has photo essays of just about every battle fought during the war.the one on Perryville has over 100 photos about the field and all the markers, some of the photos have been contributed by @buckeyebill.
He is the Web link to the Perryville site.if you click on home you can then explore anywhere else you desire.I have been looking for over a year and I have a long way to go still.
