Total Environments

I know that there are a lot of reenactors out there. I was wondering if anyone has created a total environment. Either in their house or backyard. The idea of the total environment being that, maybe for a few hours, or a whole day, you can immerse yourself in your impression.

I plan on turning one of the rooms in my place into cabin on a confederate ship, as of yet to be determined. To me it would add to the overall impression.

You are talking about time travelling without a machine.You would have to find a place with no modern distractions, as much as possible only Civil War era surroundings. A restored house or a room totally furnished in the pre or Civil War era style. A third idea would be to dress in your uniform or civilian clothes and lay down in a totally darkened room, and let your mind soar into the period of the war. You would have to turn of any modern items which could you any distractions. Good luck on your time machine quest!

I don't see it as a meditation as much as a controlled environment. My studio looks like an old shop, grungy flash and all.

It's a little more orderly than that. To enter you have to have a uniform on you, or period clothes. The talk would be the same. It would be much like the campfire, just without all that wood smoke that follows me.

As to time travel. You can find that on the field. So I don't see why this couldn't happen.

Just leave your cell out in the living room.
