This stuff is getting expensive.

A place called the Horse Soldier for the print.
My significant other wants to know where you bought the revolver
Guess what we will take home next year...
Steinwehr Avenue is an amazing place to visit! Many interesting shop for relics, food, snacks, clothing, souvenirs, and lots more may be had along its path! We are not much for "touristing" but Steinwehr remains a must stop during each trip to Gettysburg.

@War Horse, could you tell a bit more about the artwort? Who is who? Of course I recognize Lee in the middle and Jeb Stuart on the right. But then the trouble starts. First I thought the General eith his foot on the stump is Longstreet, but I blew the photo up (btw, excellent quality of photo!!) and now I think it is rather Stonewall Jackson, wearing his signature kepi and probably the new uniform coat Stuart gave him. And is it Pickett next to him? Probably not... Then Longstreet, wearing his slouch hat would be standing by the other campfire? And who is leaving the tent in tbe background? Great painting, they are all there, probably!
That's why I bought it. It's the only one I've found with Lee and all his Giants. The ANV was a unique asembily of very special personalities.

Yeah, but you're worth it. It brings you joy. AND you're supporting the economy.

I was very pleased until I received the print and found out that the other bidder was my wife who wanted to get me the print as a surprise-which I certainly was on a number of points.
Whoops!

"A fool and his money are soon parted".
I recently saw a variation of this quote, and I forget where: "A fool and his money are soon partying."

Funny, because just this morning I read in Korda's Lee biography (yes, I'm still gnawing on that one!) about a mural by Charles Hoffbauer for the Virginia Historical Society, showing Lee and his giants. But that one could not easily be taken home, LOL. Look here:

"Expensive"... are you referring to the CW art work, or the collectable/commemorative revolver ?
The revolver was priced well for the quality I thought. The art was only $100 the cheapest in the rack and my favorite. There were tons of Jackson is with you. But only one of this.

Jackson is on the left with his foot on the log. Lonstreet is seated and of course there is Lee. Sorrel is behind Longstreet and JEB is on the right. The only ones missing that would make my day are little Powell and Alexander.

Like Frederick14va, I buy art strictly for the pleasure of it. Some years ago I had the opportunity to purchase two of my favorite Troiani paintings (not prints, the original paintings). Yes they were expensive, but they have brought me much pleasure.
Buy what you enjoy...only way to fly.

I remember one time in one of the shops I was looking at Springfield it was very high-priced I turned to the owner and said what you think he smiled and said Gettysburg.

If I ever get back to Gettysburg, Steinwehr Avenue is probably a place to do one of two things. The first is to bring lots of money or a paid off credit card, because if I didn't, I'd have to file for bankruptcy! The alternative is simply not go to Steinwehr Avenue. I do not believe I have the willpower to go with option 2!

Who does. I couldn't agree more. Now throw in Gettysburg Frame shop and you can begin to feel my pain.
