This Joslyn Carbine

So this carbine came my way recently and I tried to do some research on it. Unfortunately front sight and saddle ring frame are missing, on the bright side it's sort of early serial number and very good bore. I will do more detailed pictures next week but wanted to post what ever I snapped earlier this week. As far as serial number per Springfield Research this carbine belongs to NY 19th Volunteer Cavalry range

My question: does anybody know if I can research this subject any further and where I should be looking for more info?

Interesting carbine. Unfortunately, with the SRS you can't assume anything if a serial number falls between others. With the SRS it's either an exact match or it tells you nothing for certain.

do you know by any chance what is happening with https://usmartialarmscollector.com/ ?
I paid for subscription and for additional for 2 letters for my 1903s (SRS files direct hit) and in the end of the day got nothing, send few email no answer

spend some time today inspecting the stock found one cartouche and Z stamp, anybody knows what Z stamp means?

Check out in the books that we reference. Captured Collected Re issued Confederate Arms. There have been many postings about these guns marked like yours that were picked up and re used by the Confederates.
