Any thoughts on these uniforms?
The Edgefield Hussars in a woodcut are shown with a dragoon helmet but this was probably a pre war company item and I have some doubts many Confederate mounted units wore dragoon helmets off to war.
Books Troops, a frock coat, note the use of both shoulder rank and sleeve chevrons.
The Congaree Troop were said to wear gray Homespun Hunting Shirts. Here Ron Field seems to show a pleated hunting shirt.
