Hi folks. I know we are a very long way from November, however, I'm currently reading "Tories: Fighting for the King in America's First Civil War" by Thomas B. Allen and it has been noted at various times in the text that several Loyalists were the descendants of pilgrims. It made me realize I haven't studied the first Thanksgiving since my youth, which got me thinking that I should read more about the subject with an adult perspective. Does anyone here know of any good titles? So far all the leaflets I have found are children's volumes.
On another note, I love it when the people I am reading about in history books express a love for the past, like the King's Men in the colonies I am studying now who were clearly very proud of their Plymouth roots.
It was also the many references to The American Revolution from both Union and Confederate soldiers that caused me to take an interest in the American Revolutionary War five years ago.
Thanks for reading. God bless.
