I couldn't find a review about this book so, here's my two cents:
The book drove me nuts! While I love the detailed action it gives, the absence of maps was maddening! I resorted to using the "Battlefield Atlas of the Civil War" just to try and get a sense of place about the scene of action. I'm still not too sure of where the all the action took place except to say that it took place between the two farm lanes of Trostle and Hummelbaugh.
I continued to finish reading it only because I loved the detailed battle descriptions. A most estimable book for that reason. But, you had better have a good map of the battlefield with you when you read it. It will be of great help if you are not too familiar with that part of the battlefield.

The book was published by Ironclad Publishing and is Volume #4 of their popular "Discovering Civil War America" series. I wrote the fifth volume in that series, Flames Beyond Gettysburg, and made sure we included plenty of maps.

Ironclad has heard about the dearth of maps in The Battle Between the Farm Lanes, which, incidentally, has been by far their best selling book to date.

Maps notwithstanding, the entire series is quite good (of course I am biased being one of their stable of authors).

I too have read this book.Crazy Delawares is right on the money. It was very interesting. But Ive been to Gettysburg lots of times and really didn't know exactly where a lot of this took place.
