History The Arnold Palmer Drink

In honor and memory of Arnold Palmer (Sept. 10, 1929-Sept. 25, 2016), I am posting the Arnold Palmer drink, tea and lemonade.

The story goes that Arnold Palmer loved to drink tea mixed with lemonade at home. In 1960 at the U.S. Open at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Denver, he ordered this drink. A lady sitting near him said let me have "that Palmer drink". That is how beverage got its name and became his signature drink.

never heard of arnold palmer, but i do that all the time strong tea and lemonade (preferable fanta lemon) - fasted way to get ice-tea

So sad to see Arnold go! Sure had a good life. RIP.

This is my favorite way to drink both tea and lemonade - Robert E Lee very much favored it, too! Arizona beverages bought the rights to it and Palmer's name some years ago, but you just can't beat the master touch.

I always get one when there's a self-serve fountain machine that has both lemonade and iced tea.

the actual drink is slightly more iced tea than lemonade, as the King shows in the Youtube video (which is great!). So dont try and do a 50/50 split.
