Thanksgiving by Mail

Thanksgiving is a time for gathering with family and friends, but if you cannot be with you family you could send them a card. In the 19thCentury people sent post cards and I wish to share some of those postcards with you. It is interesting to see how different yet familiar some of the themes are.

Pilgrims are still popular, but this card emphasizes the reasons for the Pilgrims giving thanks.

This reminds us how precarious like was for them.

We are reminded of the Indians who were essential to their survival.
