Texas Button

Hi folks,
I recently purchased this button, which was reportedly found at Chickamauga years ago. I presume it's for a veteran's organization because it has a Waterbury back mark; It wouldn't seem logical for the Confederates to buy buttons from Connecticut. Am I correct in those presumptions?

It is indeed a post war button.

Texas did buy buttons from Scovill Mfg Co of Waterbury Conn but they are way pre Civil War.
