Syracuse salt potatoes are from Syracuse, New York aka " Salt City". They date to 1800s. They were invented by salt workers.
4 pounds new potatoes
1 1/2 cups fine salt
8 tablespoons butter, melted
Wash potatoes and set aside. Fill pot with water. Add salt. Place potatoes in pot and bring to boil. Simmer until potatoes tender but firm, about 15 minutes. Drain. While potatoes cooking melt butter in pan. Drizzle over hot potatoes.
