" When Gen. Robert E. Lee left Appomattox in April 1865 after surrendering to Gen. Ulysses S. Grant, his copy of the terms of surrender left with him.
Now, 150 years later, the documents are returning.
"They've never been exhibited publicly before," said Joe Williams, the curator at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park. The artifacts will be on loan from Stratford Hall, Lee's birthplace.
"We're honored that they're willing to do that."
