Stone Castle

Does anyone know what building or location around the Manassas battlefield was known as "Stone Castle?" I noticed a reference in J.E.B. Stuart's report of the Bristoe Station campaign that he crossed the Bull Run near Sudley Ford and then bivouacked near "Stone Castle."

Have never seen a mention of this before in any books or on any maps of the areas of the Manassas Battlefield Park.

Perhaps the Stone House?

I believe "Stone Castle" was an area North of Hay Market up rt #15 and close to where Woolsey is today. At one time there was a "Stone Castle School" listed as historic, and a "Stone Castle Kennels" near here. They are listed as being on the Prince William County Map by Eugene M Scheel (1992) although I couldn't find them.

I think that is probably right - I had found one reference to a Stone Castle "3 miles north of Haymarket." And actually I do see it on Scheel's map - it makes sense geographically. To add context Stuart rode north the next morning and reached Little River Turnpike (Rt 50) "3 miles below Aldie". Thanks for the tip and thanks everyone for your comments.

Good eyes, I hate too think about how long I looked at that map and missed that. Thanks!
