What is this? Starr Carbine Serial Number help.

Hi Everyone! I am new to the game and came across this Starr Carbine. Its a first model percussion with 2 different numbers stamped on the side of sliding breach block. 3400 on one side and 3419 on the other. The part was cleaned by someone in the past but the areas that cant he reached have the same look as the surrounding areas. Definitely an old repair if that is so. I have not seen anything like this online as of yet. Maybe someone here can shed some light on this. Its stamped with a D near the trigger guard. I intend to make some ammunition for it as it looks like a good challenge. Thank you in advance for the help!

The Starr works like a Sharps but has a divided breechblock - so I believe we're seeing 'legs' from two different weapons, indicating a repair from long ago.

Two different repairs with a weapon being DX and stripped for parts. Odd stamping though on both sides but might be indicative of a weapon 3400 failing and broken for parts to 3419

Hi, I added a couple more pics. Its a weird item for sure. I got it to fire with a blank i made. Just 20 gn of FFG made a nice bang!!

Hi, thanks for the reply. I thought the same thing but looking closer a cant see where it's separated. Looks like one piece. I want to take it apart but want to learn more first. Seems like a low number serial as well. Any idea on the D stamp? Cool history but not alot of info online. Searching for a book.

Guys. I just picked up this Starr and albeit i´m ontop of what needs to be done mechanically i´m at a loss on a few points. Gun´s in alright shape so no worries there but, what are the sight settings for it? We´ve understood as much that ONE of the original boolits for it was at 440 grains...
