Soup, Glorious Soup!

That settles it! S0mebody remind me to take the chicken out of the freezer Friday. Chicken noodle soup this weekend.

At one time, I made my own chicken stock. Cheap, but more work than it's worth unless one doesn't work and has a houseful of kids. Going out shortly during which time I'll be visiting Jewel-Osco to pick up what I don't have.

When my mother made chicken soup, she would always add an extra chicken or two. Afterwards she would take the extra chicken and make chicken salad with it.

The trick to making a great chicken soup is if you can find an old fat hen,then you get great soup.

I'm lucky in that I seldom get really sick, and Darlene has learned to have plenty of chicken noodle soup on hand when I do. If we don't have any I can be a not so happy camper and she gives me those "if you don't stop no one will ever find your body" looks. I probably owe my life to chicken noodle soup.
