NF Some Self-Published Self-Promotion

Dear Friends, Family, Military Historians, and Civil War Enthusiasts:

I am very excited to announce that after years of labor, I have finally self-published my life's work- a multi-volume book reference outlining the organizations (orders of battle) of Union and Confederate Armies during the American Civil War!

After several years of painstaking and meticulous research, I completed the first three volumes in what I hope will be a nine volume series covering all major engagements of the Civil War. I am very proud of my work and excited at the notion of seeing it in print for the first time!

I would like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged my efforts to bring the final product to fruition. It is my hope that the remaining volumes, 2 of which are in progress now, will be made available soon. Again, thank you all for your support and encouragement!

Thank you for your kind words. My goal was to be as thorough as possible and fill in gaps in the historical record with regards to orders of battle through a combination of numerous sources both primary and secondary as well as through some inductive and deductive reasoning. I hope that folks will find it useful. Been kind of a passion project for me. My worry is that as my work is self published that some won't take it seriously. Also if anyone has suggestions for promoting it, I welcome them.

I know that Ole was doing this when I first met him. But my introducing him to this, and another, CW community slowed, then finally stopped his work.
Am wonder, during battles the Order of Battle could change, regimental and up, both quickly And go thru a number of leaders. Do you cover all these changes through out the entire battle?

Yes, as of right now there are three volumes completed the 1st is short and covers all of 1861. The 2nd covers 1862 Eastern Theatre and Atlantic coast. The third volume covers 1862 Western Theatre and trans Mississippi. I failed to mention in my acknowledgement but I owe a debt of gratitude to the writers of Sterling Price's Lieutenants. Was extremely helpful in making sense of the Missouri State Guard organizations. I am currently working on what will be Volumes 4 and 5 concurrently and they will cover Eastern Theatre/Atlantic Coast and Western/Trans Mississippi. Hope to have them finished by spring of next year.

Alas, Createspace essentially prints them to order, however if people have no problem shipping their copies to me I would gladly sign them and ship them back.

I cover command changes to the best of my ability and whenever available note the circumstances behind that change in an explanatory footnote. There are some instances where provisional commands were formed and I tried to mention those in the footnotes as well. However I am sure there are some things that I may have missed and am always looking to improve upon my work for future editions. So any constructive feedback is welcomed.
