Found at cavalry site as well. I can't get an ID on it. I think its aluminum or brass? I don't think it's silver. I can't tell if it's semi modern or Victorian . Now one on Tnet seems to figure it out.

German silver (not real silver) perhaps? If it's really light it's probably aluminum and definitely not Civil War. YMMV
