shell fragments

I recently found some brass fragments at a site liked to 3 inch ordinance rifles. Does not seem to be a fuse. Any ideas?

The pieces are 5/8 inch thick.

Thanks for posting. Unfortunately, they do not look like any Civil War fragments I've seen. Keep looking though!

The shell fragments I have are made of iron, not brass.
