I'm planning a visit to Savannah, S.C. There is plenty of information about what to see in Charlestown, what could I look for in Savannah related to the Civil War?

Not much in Savannah SC, as it been defunct since around 1765, but Savannah, Georgia now that's a different thing entirely. You have Laurel Grove and Bonaventure Cemeteries, Forts Jackson (with some of the remains of the CSS Georgia), McAllister and Pulaski. There are also some Revolutionary War areas and if you are into WWII there is The 8th Air Force Museum in Pooler.

I recommend visiting the Generals graves there are Generals buried at both North Laurel Grove and Bonaventure. Forts Pulaski and Fort Jackson is worth a visit. Savannah has some of the best seafood. If you visit Charleston make sure to visit Magnolia cemetery it can be a bumpy ride thru the cemetery and you can get easily lost in the cemetery. Well worth visiting though a few Generals as well as the Hunley is buried there. Also Secretary of Treasury Trenholm. Trenholm's grave can be hard to find since it's so small. far as visiting Hilton Head I was just reading there are two forts out there I haven't been to them yet. Beaufort S.C. is very historical General Richard Heron Anderson is buried in Beaufort behind the church.

We used to go to Savannah often to visit my sister-in-law when she was at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She is now retired and back in Ohio due to disability, so it's been a while since I have been there. Other than the forts already mentioned:

If you are interested in old books, prints, maps, etc. check out V & J Duncan in Savannah. I have purchased some of my prints there.

Not Civil War, but worth the trip for sea food, the Crab Shack, Tybee Island -It's local ( not a chain), all fresh caught seafood.
