Friends, I have some news to share, and I hope to see some of you there...
At 7:00 PM on Saturday, March 21, 2020, I will be the keynote speaker at an event at my alma mater, Dickinson College. The event will be held in the Anita Tuvin Schlechter Auditorium on the Dickinson campus. Admission is free!
Specifically, I've been asked to deliver the second annual J. Howard Wert lecture, which will be titled "Battling the Myths of Gettysburg." And I get to deliver the lecture using the very lectern used by Abraham Lincoln to deliver the Gettysburg Address! How cool is that? I get chills just thinking about it.
Given that I was not a history major and have no degree in history, it's really an honor to be asked to deliver such an address, and the fact that it was my alma mater that asked me to do so means the world to me. Thank you to Professor Matt Pinsker for the invitation--I'm really looking forward to it.
