Anyone know what this may refer to? I'm assisting someone in their research but not sure what this means.

Also, having a hard time tracking down this man's service. I'm not overly familiar with researching regular army units. Any assistance would be great.

Soldiers and Sailors Relief Commission?
The current act is an upgrade of earlier acts. I believe it covered veterans as far back as the Mexican War.

My guess is that the commission provided housing for the veteran and would have his records as part of that.
