S.Carolina Regt. search

Looking for info on what Regt. my GG grandfather was in. The only info I have on him only says Reg.2 Pickens S.C. His name was John Harris born Dec.21,1838 killed at Ft.Harrison Va. Sept.30,1864

Probably, 2nd Regiment, South Carolina Rifles there is a John Harris in CO C of this Regiment raised in Pickens county SC, They were at FT Harrison from Sep 28-30 64
The Civil War Soldiers and Sailors database lists 1,815 men on its roster for this unit. Roster.

@MOBDEnut seems to have found him. He's the correct age, and killed at Fort Harrison on September 30, 1864. Here's his compiled service record.

Thanks for the reply s ,just what I was looking for. Before this info we only knew he died somewhere near Petersburg.
