I'm fairly certain those portraits are done and done well too! (Zuzah and CivilwarinColor)
I did do the first Surgeon General to serve in the war..and he's a Brigadier General. I'll have to put him up.
Nice job. he always looks so kind to me. His wife is very interesting too. I just brought up some of her recipes.
Have you ever colored any photos of ladies of the Civil War, like Mary Todd Lincoln, Varnia Davis, or Mrs. Lee? I don't think the ladies are done very often. They are an important part of this time.

I do not yet and I have thinking the same thing that the ladies need colorizing! Mary Todd has been done a few times. I haven't seen a great photo of Mrs Lee yet. Do you know of one? I'd like to find a good image to start with.

"Future president Rutherford B. Hayes was severely wounded while leading his 23rd Ohio Infantry against Garland's North Carolinians. Carried from the field, he was cared for by regimental surgeon Joseph Webb, the brother of Hayes's beloved wife, Lucy Webb Hayes. The future president was then taken to the Jacob Rudy house, in nearby Middletown, which still stands at 504 West Main Street." http://www.historynet.com/battle-of-south-mountain.htm
