I looked in Virginia under Whittaker and Whitaker but did not see a pension record. Not everyone applied for one. You might have better luck though - the site for searching is here:

Something a bit unrelated is that Williams grandfather Joseph Whittaker also served in the "11th Virginia Infantry Regiment" during the revolutionary war. It lasted only 2 years and has no relation to the civil war division except in name but I find it incredibly interesting nonetheless.
