Congrats. Even though its a repro I'd love to see it if you get a chance. Now that you have one to play/practice with you should find one to fill that spot on the wall. I have a couple of real ones and I love just wondering where they have been. (of course they have all been at the angle at Gettysburg - not).

@Sundance @Stars in Their Courses I am flattered that you would want to see a picture of my new sword. Unfortunately I have no idea how to accomplish that. I do this on a kindle device and don't have the slightest idea weather it's even possible with one of them.

I am afraid I am so deeply rooted in the 20th century instead of this one I am at a loss when it comes to these kinds of things. But I thank you very much for your interest in my new purchase.

For a few extra hundred you can get the real deal. I have a very nice unmarked Civil War Foot Officer's sword that only cost me $500 two years ago.

It is unmarked import probably made in Germany and would have been an Officer's private purchase by either side.

If you are getting one for display I agree with @ucvrelics get the real deal. It won't cost you that much more if you search diligently and start saving your pennies. But if you want one to "play" with and hack watermelons get a repro. Never tear up an original.
