Recently i purchased what i thought was a killer deal on a m1860 light cavalry saber. Turns out its a fair price on a reproduction. It hassomenumbers stamped on the hand guard i thought was military unit related. A friend of mine whos much more versed than i looked at it and tells me its a very good reproduction from the late 60s- early 70s. Does anyone know of companys that would have produced something like this? My friend suggested that the number stamped on it is from a movie prop house and its their inventory number. Id liketo chase this theory down if possible. Any help would be appreciated

Photos would be very helpful to included all the markings.

Its marked ames, chicopee mass and dated 1862. It has adk inspector narjs on both sword and scabbard. The throat of the scabbard is actually 2 pieces not just one formed piece.
