Remington Transition Model?

I have been told that my revolver is a transition model. Can anyone help me confirm this?
Can anyone explain the absence of a serial# under the left grip? The screw on the trigger guard is frozen so I can't remove the trigger guard.
This was an estate auction of a homesteader from western Nebraska who, according to relatives, had brought the revolver home from the Civil War.

Nice Remington. The 2 line address is an early production. The transition models ran from serial # 10,000 - 22,000 and with this one being 1863 it is not a transitional Remington. Are there any marks on the trigger guard?

They all are supposed to have the serial on the side of the frame, which you pictured, showing no serial. I don't understand that.
IF you take the brass trigger guard off, the serial will be on that tab that is hidden when the guard is in place.
