Reenacting in 2017

How was your event up there over the weekend?
Amazing! The ironic thing is that he and I traded coffee and tobacco on Saturday without knowing it was the two of us. So I went over to the Confederate camp and asked for him and we had a pretty good laugh about it. Then we repeated it Sunday. I took a hit on Sunday. The same day in 1864, my ancestors in the First Maine were wounded at Petersburg. But the whole thing was a great time.

Glad you had a good event. I'll be in your area in a couple weeks. Going to Gettysburg then doing an event in NY 2 weeks later, visiting my family in NH in between. Hoping to do some more events up that way in the near future.

Nice seeing you there Pvt Bucci!

You as well, sir! If you're there in the next couple years, we'll have to extend the trade. If you smoke, I'd be happy to share a bit of a cigar. I had actually wanted it to go bad one day and have an officer find us and take one of us prisoner. I had an elaborate plan, but it didn't work out. In any case! Very fun weekend! They never last long enough!

The tactical on Saturday AM was really great. But I was soaking after that. Did you see the fawns we spooked?

Which NY event? Mumford?

Well, our unit is the 2nd Vermont. Not sure if we will be attached to another unit, but I will be on the lookout for the 12th GA.
I shouldn't be too hard to find, My avatar picture is me at Olustee last year, I'll be wearing the same uniform. I'll be with the 12th Georgia which I believe will be attached with I think the 21st. I don't know how many units will be there. Ask for Drew or the Florida guy. See you there.

Sorry, didn't see this until today. Did you enjoy it? We fell in with the 155th NY.

It was a great event, we (the 12th guys) fell in with the 21st Georgia, great guys and very good, I learned a lot from those guys. They kept us busy though, didn't have much free time, lots of drilling on top of 2 battles each day. My first time using Gilham's so that was interesting. We were the right wing, the fife and drummers are part of the 21st so that's where I was. The only free time I had was at the Saturday night dance but I was so beat I didn't last long, hit the sack pretty early. Hope you enjoyed it and I'm sure we'll cross paths again somewhere down the road.

I could steal your post almost word for word. We were also on the right wing most of the time. Except in the village on Sunday, when we ended up on the left. So I was probably up against you then! I actually skipped out on the Sunday morning fight because I really wanted to explore the buildings and hadn't had the chance. I was dead on my feet at the dance as well!
