NOW Recruiting in the Savannah Area,
In Conjunction with Co A, 2nd Georgia Sharpshooters of the Georgia Division Reenactors Association, Co B, 1st Battalion Georgia Sharpshooters is recruiting in the Savannah area.
Co B began life in 1850 as the DeKalb Rifles, recruited from among the German citizens of Savannah. In 1861 it was designated as Co A, 1st Georgia (Olmstead's) Regt. In 1862 it was redesignated as Co B, 1st Georgia Sharpshooters.
The unit also does a Federal impression as Co B, 64th Illinois Vet Vol Infantry (1st Battalion, Yates' Sharpshooters)
