I now receiving a lot of the equipment so I can take up re-enacting. I have a question, what tools would I need to size the belt and afix the belt plate (buckle) to it?

Leather punch ought to do the job nicely. To do it less nice, a sharp knife will do as well. It ain't exactly rocket/leather science.

Thanks for the advice. I once had instruction in leatherwork, my age was still single digits at the time.
