I am looking to purchase a good quality accouterments set. I was poking around online and was disappointed to find that Duvall is no longer making ACW accouterments on a regular basis. I like Missouri Boot and Shoe, as well as MB Young and Co, but am still shopping around before I buy. So, does anyone know of a sutler that produces quality mid to high grade accouterments for a fair price. I am not looking for cheap, but every dollar counts, and I know that most of you have pinched a penny or two to get the most out of those dollars.

Much obliged for the help.

The secondary market is a great place to find quality accoutrements. Since the end of the 150th Anniversaries quite a few reenactors have decided to thin out their gear or retire from reenacting altogether. Many have museum grade accoutrements which they never wore or wore only on a few occasions. I suggest you place 'Want Ads' on the following forums.

My personal faves are Missouri Boot and Shoe and MB Young and Co, but LD Hanning (be ready to pay), Butch Myers, Cary Davisson, and Lukas Berg all make great stuff. As Legion Para says though, there is a lot of quality gear to be had on the secondary market.

Cheers,
Garrett

Thanks, Garret. There are some new names that I don't recognize. I always like to check out new sutlers. I will definitely take a look.

Regimental Quartermaster has their "Campaigner Corner" which has some Duvall leathers. If I were buying new I would go with either Duvall or Missouri Boot and Shoe.

Johan,

I like RQM, but they don't have a package deal of their campaigner gear. If I have to peice it out, I will, but I need to pinch a few pennies right now. MBS is at the top of the list so far. Thanks for all the advice!

Stony Brook is another site to watch, I'm not sure what you're looking for exactly but there is some CS leathers there at the moment. His stock moves and he gets things new used items in pretty regular.

Good luck
