Is there any record of anyone using old fashion Pistol Braces? The proper term is pistol baldric, but I know them as a brace of pistols.

Pure moonshine piece of equipment. Not practical at all. The buckle would rapidly dig into the shoulder on a march of any kind. The loops securing the pistols are pure fantasy.

something like this might have existed for a pirate but I question even that.
Yah I figured, I thought maybe super early in 1861 of something. I know for a fact they were definitely used in the Golden age of Piracy, lol.

Better to reference period woodcuts, in lieu of illustrations from 2010.

Note the minor variations on how the pistols were secured to the shoulder straps (which I could see being repurposed from period cartridge boxes).
