Pick up some pin fire ammo the other day at a fun show. I did a little research and found that 7mm 10mm and 12mm have all been found in CW battle fields. That is what these are respectively. Not sure if they are CW era but for the price (a song!) and I just thought they were neat I pulled the trigger! Pun intended! How long were pin fire weapons used? These have to be 19th century if not civil war era? Sure display nice ! Please share your Thoughts?

Ok side issue how do you rotate the photos?! Lol going crazy trying to figure it out?

The Lefaucheaux Pinfire Revolvers were, according to American Rifleman, the fourth most issued revolver in Federal Service behind the Colt variants, the Remington, and the Starr, in that order. Over 11,000 were purchased by the Union Army, and the Confederacy, in addition to the standard revolvers, also purchased a few pinfire variants of the famed LeMat.

There were also some 12,500 12mm Lefaucheaux revolvers purchased specifically for US Navy use in late 1861, eliminating problems with wet powder. The pinfire cartridges were also easily reloaded.
