Picked up this 1864 Type 1 Cartridge Box today for $100.

Was part of package deal with a later Trapdoor rifle, and I asked if he would sell separately. He asked how much would I offer and I said due to condition, how about $100. He agreed, and here it is.

Can't find a makers mark, but there are remnants of the inspection stamp on the lower left. In the past, there seems to have been a box plate added over the stamped US, but removed. I have seen other originals like this.

Also the flap strap rivet seems to have ripped in the past and re-riveted back on. Which might be a period repair, but not positive.

Seems to be an original from my research, but what do you all say.
