Besides it's no cdv it's a wet plate photo... came before cdvs .. true story .. look some what a like , but most certainly not .. that's all I'm saying bout it .. just kno I have it is what is.. no bashing nor trying discrediting is gonna change that .. it's a incredible find , a true historical treasure indefinitely..

I'm glad you have it but I'm not trying to bash or put down what you're saying. I simply just want to learn. I was under the impression that wet plate photography is on hard images. I think the museum or a relic dealer can help with a value. Try civilwardealers.com that's a huge list of people

This kind of reminds me of all the pictures that are alleged to be Billy the Kid or Jesse James, etc. They pop up from time to time with the owner saying its some rare, one-of-a-kind picture worth billions. Uh huh.

You say (and poorly at that), that this is some sort of picture of Thomas Lincoln and expect everyone should just say "ok" and give you some guess at value. IF it is what you say it is - and you'll have to have some real experts confirm it - then there might be some discussion of value. Until then, it's a blurry photo of a questionable subject. Nothing more.

No you are not. I can't see anything from the blurry out of focus photos posted so I can't say either way.

As someone who collects CW photos and CDV.

Get the sense that I'm going to be screaming into the void but:

1) this is a CDV, there's no two ways about it. It's literally a textbook example of a CDV with a post 1864 tax stamp
2) your photos are quite blurry but from these photos (plus the presence of a tax stamp) I really do not think this is Mr. Lincoln.

It's a real bummer when an item wasn't what you thought it was (believe me, I've been there and it sucks) but there's a lot of knowledge on this forum and you'd be wrong to discount it out of hand simply because you don't like their conclusions.
