Perryville 1862 question

Hello!

GmenHusky here.
I was wondering if anybody would have a copy of Kenneth Hafendorfer's 2-volume set "The Kentucky Campaign of 1862 and Battle of Perryville" for sale or know somebody who has one.
I love the Civil War and have a ton of books on the various battles and campaigns, but this one has eluded me.
None of my local libraries have it due to the rarity of the set.
As someone with an interest in the 1862 Heartland Offensive in Kentucky, I would love to have either a physical copy or a PDF scan of the books.
I would be willing to pay whatever the cost to buy the books or have them scanned.

Thanks,

GmenHusky

Welcome from the Fort Sumter and the Fredericksburg forums.

I see on Good Reads that there were only 108 copies of the book printed and that the authors daughter (Jennifer) was selling them after his death in 2017. Perhaps you can start there. Good luck.

I am a fan of Hafendorfer's work and his book, "They Died by Two's and Ten's" is one of the greatest books on the subject of the smaller, less famous engagements and has helped me immensely in battle research. Plus, it is just a good read.

In a couple of weeks, the huge Civil War Show will be held in Franklin, TN. (just south of Nashville) and I always attend. I will keep my eye out for this work.

A signed copy of Perryville is on Amazon for 20 bucks. Grab it- if you don't have already. I have Perryville, Wildcat Mountain and Richmond.

The two volume set is a rare find.

Have your tried requesting an inter-library loan? They send out a search for the book and another library may loan it to your library.
I do that often; sometimes to check out a book before I invest money to buy one.
Once I did that for a history of a WW2 bomber group and a copy was found. To my surprise, it was on loan from the Library of Congress.

Thank you all for the replies!

I have Hafendorfer's 1991 edition of Perryville in my bookshelf.
It is an excellent read.
Unfortunately, many of his other books seem to be a little pricier.
His 2-volume Kentucky set seem to be the most expensive and elusive of all of them!
