Peace effort 1862

1860 Census Slave Schedule from Prince William County, Virginia, listing the 17 slaves (there is a two year old female on the next sheet) of Wilmer McLean. None are named - typical of the pre-War censuses.

Thanks so much for posting the slave census! I count 5 possible male young men who could have been Gregory's "Black Boy", but my guess is that it would have been one of the teenagers--someone that could have been useful around the camp. There are so many details that would be great to know, but that are probably lost forever to history.
