I have aP53 Enfield in my collection that has a maker's name of ROSE'S under the barrel. I have found Rose Brothers listed as British Gun makers in the 1860s so I assume this is their mark. Also the name Marson (can't make out the letter in front of Marson) on the inside of the lock plate. Also found a Marson listed in The English Connection. Do any of you P.53 experts know if either of these makers had any ties to the Confederacy? The rifle has no Confederate stamps or markings I can find. Thanks in advance for your info.
