Try this version of Cole Slaw for your Memorial Weekend picnic. It is from cookbook "Old Timey Recipes".
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons vinegar
1 1/2 teaspoons onion juice
6 cups shredded cabbage
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon caraway seed
1/2 medium green pepper, chopped
2 cups diced apples
Combine cottage cheese, mayonnaise. Add vinegar, onion juice, seasonings, and caraway seeds. Combine dressing with cabbage, apples and green peppers. Place in large bowl lined with cabbage leaves. Garnish with cottage cheese and green peppers. You may decorate to suit the occasion. Chill. Makes 8 to 10 servings.

You can grate the onion then put it in some cheesecloth and squeeze out the juice, or use a blender or juicer. I'd think twice about the juicer - orange/onion juice is not that good...
