Here is another great dessert from "Old-Time Recipes To Enjoy", "The Kentucky Explorer Magazine."
Old-Fashioned Lemon Layer Cake
Three-quarters cup butter, two cups sugar, grated rind of one lemon, three large eggs, one-and-one-quarter cups sifted flour, four teaspoons baking powder, and three-quarters teaspoon salt. Cream butter, sugar and lemon rind together.

All of the older ladies attending this church are quite the cooks/bakers. It's an easy sell, to get me to show up, when I know they're bringing food
