Hello everyone. I found a cva wells Fargo model 31 cal revolver.. I am putting it together and things are going well except for the nipples hitting the frame and letting the cylinder turn. They seem to be to long can anyone help me.

Photos would help but lets see if our Regimental Armour can help. paging @johan_steele

Well, I don't have a TV so don't know that show but it doesn't sound encouraging. I suppose I'd have hoped to avoid such.
Don't get a TV with the idea that you will learn anything important from a reality TV show such as "Botched" except perhaps learning that many folks who pay good money to improve or repair some part of their body end up much worse.

It is kit right out of the box with the wrapper still on it never been put together before .
Do the nipples thread in easily or are they difficult? I ask because an acquaintance bought a kit and the screws included were all metric but the threads were in inch… took him quite a while to figure out. I doubt that would be the case with nipples.

It's possible the wrong nipples were included. If it's brand new never used that's what I would check first. Some vendors aren't above just putting a kit together and not caring if they're the right parts. But we really need pics to do much more than guess.

Some pics of issue.

Two things jump out at me, I'm looking at these pics from my phone so I may well be talking through my hat. I think the cylinder is too far back in the frame. That and the nipples look the wrong size to me.

I'm not a pistol man but I think you may have two issues.

I hope that is better than no help.

Good luck and I look forward to some of the pistol experts to chime in.

The cylinder rides on the surface that it should I have many revolvers this is the only one I am trying to get together all other ones I have bought assembly new.

Then I think you were provided the wrong nipples in the kit. As I said I'm looking at these on my phone and it's hard to tell. Sounds like you've done everything right.

Have you tried to contact the company who made the kit?
I just looked at my 1860 colt army I put together years ago an the nipples are flush with the rear of the cylinder. It shoots just fine. They don't look as long as yours.
I suspect someone put the wrong nipples in your kit.

I was wondering if that might be the case.I have tried to call and email alot if companies and I am told they haven't made this revolver for over 20 years they don't know which is the proper nipples for it. I hate to have to order dozen different ones and hope I get ones to fit.

I would call Lodgewood and speak w/ Dave Stavlo, explain your issue. He may have a quick answer for you.

Good luck.
