This .54 caliber rifle has been in my family for at least 50 years and was found in an old house in the Shenandoah Valley.

Obviously of Belgian origin but I can't find anything that matches it, some are similar but nothing exact. Quite a few markings on the underside of the barrel that starts octagonal and goes to round. Thanks in advance for your help.

If you can give a better picture of the front/top barrel band we might get a better idea. But at first blush (on my phone) it looks like a "Frankenmusket" made from assorted parts. Assorted parts were easily available and often cobbled together to create inexpensive shotguns. Up into the 60's & 70's when the buckskinner & reenactor hobby seemed to really get going I think items like this were fairly common.
