Need help with identifying entrenching relic

Hello everyone! I am new to the forum and I could use some help identifying an item given to me. The tag reads," Confederate trenching tool found in the earth works on Shies Hill." I would ask the person that originally owned it, but he has since passed so all I have to go on is the tag. I am unsure if the tag attached to the relic is accurate and I am hoping you guys could help a rather inexperienced person to figure out just what he has and whether the information on the tag is correct or not. Thanks

Since it was found in or around a trench it was labeled that way most folks just call it a hoe

More importantly identifying the correct area and battle where it was found. Shy's Hill, battle of Nashville, I suspect.

That's what I believe since the relative that found it lived somewhere in Nashville his whole life, so that would seem to make sense. I have never seen Shy's Hill spelled the way it was on the card but seeing that there was another gramatical error on the card, maybe he just didn't care to correct it or didn't even notice it.
