Need help deciphering writing on service cards

Service card for an ancestor of mine, I am not able to make out the reason for discharge on the bottom of the card.
"Discharged on [???] certificate (possibly April?) 5, 1862."

Was hoping maybe someone on here would have an idea about what the reason for discharge would be. Thanks for any help!

Sorry I'm so late to answer this - my notifications have been wacky lately.

That's definitely surgeon's certificate, which was a pretty common phrase. There's no medical card so he was wounded or hospitalized (or at least, we have no record of it). But he may have been ill enough that he couldn't serve. Two of my ancestors were sent home due to illness - both had issues with their lungs.
